He has published several historical books and many newspaper articles about the history of New Zealand in general and more specifically about the Canterbury region, and its inhabitants. 

On Monday 16th May he visited the Year 11 French class to talk to us about life in the trenches in la Grande Guerre and the life of Edith Cavell.
He also introduced us to  the amazing story of a Cantabrian fighter pilot Noel Stokes who crashed his plane just outside the French village of Yevres in World War II, saving the inhabitants from a gruesome death. 

Mr Amodeo showed his 3D model of the trenches and fascinating facts about bodies buried under the “duck boards” and how unhealthy it was to live amidst the hastily buried remains of their fellow soldiers.  He is also an authority on the major battles of WWI.

We already look forward to Mr Amadeo visiting us again as we commemorate the dates of these battles throughout the year.
