The Pou on its way to France

Farewell ceremony for the pou.

On Friday at Shirley Boys' High School, Matua (“father” or “teacher”) gathered his leadership maori students come and do a “karakia” (blessing) and then do a haka with the French trip boys. Each took a few minutes to touch each panel, think of the men and women that inspired it, and all the people that worked to make it happen. A way to send their aroha (love) and mana (pride, sense of self, commitment etc) with it.
Here are a few pics, it is such a moving project to be leading - And if you have missed a bit you can read more about the whole project here.
