1.     Why, in your view, is the commemoration of the First World War important for France and how relevant is it to young people in 2018?

I think that we must always keep a memory of our ancestors and what they have lived. Especially not to reproduce the errors, but also to notice and remember the evolutions made until today.

2.     Do you have an ancestor who was in Northern France during WW1? Please include details and names.

My great-grandmother was born in Lomme, near Lille, in 1911 and was the youngest of a family of 18 children. It is therefore likely that one of his brothers or uncles participated in the First World War. Unfortunately, I do not know more.

3.     Explain the reasons why you are interested in participating in the Young ambassadors – program in New Zealand 2018

I am very happy to participate in this project since we are very touched by the memory of the First World War. In addition, sharing is something very important: to share my knowledge and my history to New Zealanders but also what I will have learned, to the French.

Participating in this adventure will teach me and make me discover many new things, and I cannot wait! Discovering a new culture and a new country also motivated me to join the program. On the other hand, I really like English and want to improve myself, I think it will help me.
