About Lily

I’m so excited to be one of the Young Ambassadors chosen for the 2016 French tour.

I don’t know how long I’ve been wanting to visit France for, but it’s always been top on my travel list, so I’m ecstatic about the trip!

Being a Young Ambassador means being passionate about both French and New Zealand history, as well as each country’s involvement with World War 1.

When I moved to New Zealand from Canada two years ago, one of the first things I caught onto was the amount of respect Kiwis have for their predecessors who fought in the war.

Since then, I have become aware of the horrors of WW1, and why it’s so important that we pay our dues.

Being a Young Ambassador will allow me to do just that!  During my trip, and the events leading up to it, I hope that I’ll come to greater understand the events of the war, and how France and NZ were linked during these times.

I can’t to meet lots of really cool people and learn all about French culture, while also sharing a bit of my own! :)
