This week the principal of Baradene College, Mrs Sandy Pasley, accompanied two of our students Keera Ofren and Lauren White (pictured), to an Auckland Council WWI Political Steering Group meeting, chaired by historian Sandra Coney. A large group of Baradene College students presented an overview of the research project and the steps in creating the exhibition and book. They then read from sections of the book that we launched at the event. Finally they gave a presentation about the trip they went on to France. It was a great event.
Great to see the support of people, especially parents and families of the students. But also great to Stephen from Defining Moments who drove down from Whagarei and History teachers from around Auckland and Waiheke Island.
A very big crowd of people attended the opening of our exhibition at the Remuera Library in Auckland. It was fantastic to see so many people at the event.
Baradene College students - Lauren White and Keeara Ofren - went to Wellington to speak at a function at the National Library hosted by the French Embassy. They took down fifteen posters and some copies of the book 'The Battle of Conscience'. They represented to project very well.
