Personal stories of players and teachers, present at a 1909 Wellington College rugby match who later fought on the Western Front, provide the stepping stones to the experiences of soldiers who fought in WW1.
This project is an extension to the project began with Lycée Européen de Villers Coteret hence its subtitle "Re-invigorating the heart - different experiences and memories".
1 class of students in France will work on the project for 2 years, whereas in New Zealand 2 different classes will participate over that time. Most French students will therefore communicate with two New Zealanders. The objectives are for students to communicate with one another prior to visiting the other country, to learn more about the history and the culture of each country prior during and after a physical exchange.
The expected outcomes are exhibitions both in France and in New Zealand portraying the students’ work as well as blogs of their visits to the others' country.
