All six of them will be reunited with the French Young Ambassadors and will be hosted by their families. Together they will visit the Carrière Wellington in Arras, and discover how soldiers lived in the quarry during the week before the 1917 Spring Offensive, and learn more about the Battle of Arras. Their visit will continue to Bapaume,  a city at the heart of the allies strategic objectives during the Battle of the Somme.

Once in Péronne, the French Young Ambassadors will be the guides, with the Historial of Péronne retracing life behind and at the front lines. Together they will travel to Longueval to the Caterpillar Valley Cemetery, and to Le Quesnoy where they will be guided by the Le Quesnoy/New Zealand Association and hosted at the Town Hall for a reception.

The trip will continue onto Ypres, Belgium with a visit of the In Flanders Field museum, and find out about the invasion of Belgium, and they will lay a wreath at the Menin Gate daily World War 1 Ceremony. Other places of historic interest, such as Tyne Cot Cemetery, Passchedaele and Messines are also on the itinerary while in the area.

As the tour proceeds, and due to the geographical proximity of sites, the Young Ambassadors will have the opportunity to visit the places of interests they have explored in their personal projects. It will bring to life their research and will be a time of deep remembrance and emotion.

And as the trip comes to an end, they will make their way to Paris, where the French Young Ambassadors will meet with them again to attend the Bastille Day Parade on the Champs Elysées. And a meeting with representatives from the Mission du Centenaire de la Première Guerre Mondiale will conclude their stay before heading home full of memories and having built strong relationships.
