Past and Future

Last blog this year. Seems scary to think that we were in France a month ago and just like that reality hits and I miss it all. “In a blink of an eye it’s all gone”. I never use to get that quote but now I do. Just like that we were there and now we are here, seems like a dream.

Snap back to reality, I presented my findings of the trip and project to my French class. I think they were quite shocked when I showed them pictures that war photographers took. It was gruesome to see the reality...

Gone like the wind

Gone like the wind

Saying goodbye

C’était très bien voyager en France. La famille d’accueil était très gentille et accueillent.

I loved every bit of the trip from waiting at the airport to travelling around France and Belgium. My host family were very kind, they took me and Lilly far and wide to experience their culture. The most memorable part of the trip for me (well I got a few but to narrow down) was the bag pipes band at the ceremony in Belgium and the Longueval ceremony. To listen to music from New...

Ready

Ready

La semaine dernière

5 more days until we fly to France. I am feeling very excited and nervous at the same time! I can’t wait to go back to France and go there with a significant purpose. All i want to take with me on this trip is an open mind, i want to capture everything that will help me illustrate my project to people. From the French point of view, to the New Zealand point of view and German. I want to show people through my project that we are all human, they were human and no matter...

Le Courage, La Responsabilité & Le Sacrifice

Bonjour, Kia ora, 안녕하세요, こんにちは, Hello.

My project is on its way. I’ve found some useful and interesting things about people having been involved in warfare, dealing with what they had to go through and see, and what they were like when the war was over. I’ve been asking my teachers and friends if they have had any of their family members serve in WW1. My friend said that her great granddad served and she has his records, metals, dates etc. Which is very helpful towards my project. My...

Until we meet again...

Until we meet again...
