Chocolats pour les champions du design!

The Logo competition for our poppelicot wiki finished.

We used a google form to vote (in French for the NZ students and in English for the French students to combine design with language acquisition). It worked really well at this level (year 8 are complete beginners in New Zealand), and all students have improved their reading comprehension skills heaps. They confidently ticked boxes to express their likes and dislikes and explained their choices. Repetition is always a successful tool in languages teaching, so the fact that 10 entries had to be judged on was another successful pedagogic sidekick.

Hannah Smith, year 8, from St Margaret's College won the overall vote from both countries. Congratulations, Hannah, your logo will be displayed on the wiki for a year, when we probably do another round since the competition was a huge success in both countries.

The winner (and everyone else who took part :)!) got chocolates sent across the world. The wonderful French chocolates have already arrived, while the New Zealand chocs are still on their way, somewhere between Christchurch and Amiens. The year 8 students loved to get a taste of France, Merci à Stéphane et Caroline!
