9 Shared Histories projects that will continue to empower their participants

All Shared Histories projects have concluded with a lasting effect, here are nine that will continue to empower their participants ongoing.

1- Cheval de Guerre
Nga Tawa Diocesan School (Marton NZ) - Collège Jules Ferry (Conty FR)
The project started with a shared love of horses and an inquiry into the role of the animals into World War One.
Highlights: Participation in the International Choir at the Concert du Centenaire (100+ singers)Twinning of the two Cities.

2- Disobedience & Rebellion of Soldiers and the Treatment of Conscientious Objectors
Baradene College of the Sacred Heart (Auckland NZ) - Lyçée Professionel Jean Maçé (Chauny FR)
A collaborative exploration of how both France and New Zealand responded to the issue of disobedience and rebellion of soldiers on the frontline and the treatment of conscientious objectors.
Highlights: Travelling Exhibition culminating to exhibiting at Queen Elizabeth II Pukeahu Education Centre at Pukeahu National War Memorial Park in Wellington.Publication of first bilingual e-book available at Auckland Libraries.

3- Poppelicot
Saint Margaret College (Christchurch NZ) - Collège Etouviers (Amiens FR)
Remembering through Empathy - Leaving as a teenager 100 years ago
Highlights: Publication of Bittersweet Memories, World war 1 recipes from New Zealand and France - Integration of the project into the NCEA Assessment framework.

4- In the Heart of the Scrum Au Coeur de la Mélée Wellington College (Wellington NZ) - Lycée Européen de Villars-Cottêrests (FR)
Rugby during the First World War
Highlights: Creation of their own website, School exchange, video of the trip.

5- French Trenches to Trophy
Waimea College, Nelson NZ - Lycée Val de Seine, Rouen Fr
Exploring the journey of the Dave Gallaher trophy
Highlights: Diary of Soldier Hannen researched and published - Inspired an aspiring Young Ambassador to apply for the programme.



6 - Shared Destinies: NZ & France identity through war 
Long Bay College, Auckland NZ - Collège Léon Dautrement, Meyssac FR
Highlights: Created a teacher exchangeMemorials and Exhibition

7 -The Great War and our Indigenous People
Whakatane High School NZ Collège de Normandie Nouméa (New Caledonia)
Comparing the Kanak experience and the Maori experience of World War One.
Highlights: Physical exchange and book publication

8-  Our Families Involvement
Epsom Grammar School for Girls (Auckland NZ) - Lycée Général et Technologique Gay Lussac (Chauny FR)
Highlights: Collaborative fresco produced by both school students and assembled together in the French school.

9 - Great War Explorations
Shirley Boys High School Christchurch NZ _ Lycée Carnot Dijon FR _ Lycée Jacques Caron Arras FR
Highlights: A three school collaboration and the creation and delivery of Pou to the two French schools by Shirley Boys High School.
