The #YA2016NZ Tour was an eye-opening experience for me and I still cherish all the memories I made over in France with the other Young Ambassadors and all the other people I met over there.
After coming back from France and reflecting on the visit there, I can truly say that it was an amazing experience for me and everyone else on the tour.
The 14 days that we were there for seems like such a short time now, but with all the visits and activities planned for us each day, there was so much to take in, and every day was a great learning opportunity!
The tour is slowly but surely beginning to dawn on me now as the flight to France is this Saturday. And after the skype call on Tuesday with all the group members, I feel ready to go and make the most out of my time over there.
During the last few weeks, I’ve been doing some research into the New Zealand soldiers and the roles that they had during the Battle of the Somme.

For my project, I’ve decided to research the impact that wars have had on families, regardless of where, when and who was involved and compare all the affected families in my research to build a broader understanding of the devastation that wars can have.
Dès notre arrivé à Wellington, nous avons participé dans les discussions à propos de ce projet, visité « The Great War Exhibition » et aussi eu le privilège de visiter la résidence de l’ambassadeur français.
