The last couple of weeks I have been busy working towards completing a history research internal assessment - a very long but worthwhile process. I was luckily able to work this internal in parallel with my Young Ambassador inquiry, meaning that over the month since my last blog entry, I have been able to kill two birds with one stone. In History, our internal was to ‘Research an historical event/place of significance to New Zealanders, using primary and secondary sources’, and my topic was, of course, the First World War. We have been doing a lot of prep work for this. We have our inquiry focus questions and from that have decided that the first steps will be on the focus of pacifism before WWI, conscientious objectors and opposition to conscription. These first steps will be heavily scaffolded with research booklets and specific tasks. Here is the focus of the students inquiry.
