Le temps passe vite...

Written by

Where has the time gone? It’s hard to believe that about this time last year we had only just found out that we were Young Ambassadors, but in this short space of time so much has happened! I’m so grateful to have had this opportunity - I’ve learnt so much and I’ve met so many awesome people along the way. Not only has this experience improved my French and knowledge of WW1, it has definitely made me more eager to see the world and discover more of its history.

Throughout the year I’ve been working on my personal inquiry project. Being a teenager growing up in 2014, I was interested in how much life has changed for teenagers over the years and for that reason I decided to base my inquiry project on life for teenagers living in France and New Zealand during 1914-18 and 2014.

I chose to use Google+ Communities to present my inquiry, as this will allow anyone to view it and/or leave comments, share or +1 posts. Although my findings won’t give a 100% accurate view on life for every teenager in 1914-18 and 2014, it gives a general view of teenage life, based on research, photos, teenagers’ personal views and local stories that I’ve compiled.

In terms of my future plans, I’m heading to Otago University this year where I’ll be doing a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in French and Economics.

Thanks again to everyone who has supported me and made this journey such a memorable one!
Emma :)
