Our Families' Involvement in WW1
Epsom Girls Grammar School, Auckland NZ
Lycée Gay Lussac, Chauny FR
We began our project by setting Edmodo pages where students communicate in French and English one to many in order to make one to one links.
Students in both schools have been working on assignments to research those involved in the War and the effect of the War on them and their families.
Part of the project also includes sharing care packages as those on the home front did during WW1.
These activities have been good building blocks for the sister school relationship which is in the process of being ratified through the French and New Zealand school authorities. This is in preparation for a group of 40 EGGS girls travelling to France in April 2015.
The Lycée Gay Lussac has employed an artist who has designed and will build a ceramic and glass Wall of Remembrance, which will showcase student poems, artistic creations etc.
Together we will dedicate the wall in April 2015.
